HMRC is endorsing a new app which allows taxpayers to view their tax code and an estimate of the tax to be paid.
The app is available from the app store for iOS and Google Play Store users. To use the app, users will need to enter their government gateway ID and password. Users will also be able to sign in using a six-digit pin, fingerprint authentication, or facial recognition, depending on the handset that they are using.
Aside from tax, taxpayers will also be able to view their income and benefits, National Insurance number, tax credits payment schedules and renewals.
Additionally, users can use the tax calculator feature on the app and track forms and letters that HMRC have sent them.
The app will be very similar to online banking wherein the menu choices are noticeable and the finger tabs are as fast as you like.
